Summer Newsletter
2010
So many blessings have come our way this summer.
The E.L. Wiegand Foundation grant check for $180,255.94 arrived and is safely in the bank. We have begun purchasing the portable classroom, interactive white boards, and floor coverings and are now awaiting approval from the state to begin installation of the heating and air condition for the gymnasium as well as the new lighting. We will also be purchasing fabric for the new curtains on the stage.
Brand new math books have been un-packed and are in the classrooms ready for the new school year. Even pre-schoolers will have a new math curriculum.
4th grade will have a beautiful new Washington State History book to start the year off. We are so grateful and blessed by the donations from our supporters who made getting these new curriculums possible.
Holy Family welcomed a new pastor the first of July. Fr. Richard Root has already toured the school and is busy familiarizing himself with our school and its families. We are anxious to begin a new school year with Fr. Root. We will continue our regular weekly masses and wear dress attire of khaki bottoms with a plain navy top to mass.
The carpets will be professionally cleaned at the end of this month so that we will have a clean healthy learning environment when school begins.
Each family is asked to help the school out on August the 12th anywhere from 9 am to 7pm when School Advisory Council will sponsor a work day at the school.
There is a long list of projects, painting, cleaning, repairs and yard work to get done in order to be ready for the first day of school. If you could give just one hour of your time sometime during that day it will be appreciated. Bring your gloves, favorite tools or paint brush and come support your school.
The official certificates from the Northwest Accreditation Association and the Western Catholic Accreditation Association arrived and are framed and hanging in our hallways. We are so proud of this accomplishment. Holy Family was given the full six year term which means we will not have to go through this process again until 2016.
We are all anxious for a new school year to begin. The teachers and I have been planning new strategies to help our students and to work together in a faith filled learning environment. We appreciate the support and dedication of our families that entrust with the care of your children.
